I want to get most of the top green.
Gotta find some good thin moss.
I may have to rough up the surface.

What is the rock?

? Dunno?

I found it on a building site.

I think the red is from nearby rusting iron, and the part I carved is just compacted sandish clay.

It gets that quartzish white underneath.

I just bought a rock hammer so I can start carving these big chunks of granite I carried down from the mountains into slabs!
Might be a start of another hobby, who knows.

recently got on a kick for this type of thing too, sorce if you have instagram there is a dude who collects rare stones and makes hand made mame pots out of said rocks and puts tiny little mame bonsai in them, its actually very interesting. never realized how many cool rare stones are out there for the collecting. on instagram hes @dustandearth, out of ohio. ,, mostly mame but not all. lot rock stuff..check it out.. I feel like you would be entertained.
