Creating bonsai compositions that reference swamp habitats are a challenge!
I have created several over the years and never really been all that successful.
Dreamed up a new idea to try...
Started with this...
and this...
Then got a little creative with this...
after covering with flex seal this was the result...48" wide and 26" front to back at the widest spot.
With a little water...holds about an inch of water...maybe a little more.
Time to prepare the planting...removed some of the edge of the rootball...
after some root and foliage pruning I ended up here...
I opted for sphagnum moss as a way to contain the soil in the water tray...
And this is where I ended up for now...
