Congratulation! Becoming grandpa will have a new job! I believe you will have lot of joy!Yes they know how to lift the right way.... i so wish i would have taken better care of my back... but you Im blessed I will be a grandpa in a few weeks my first grand child im so excited
No no no, don't do that! ;-)the fun part will be spoiling her loading her up on sugar and sending her home lol
Exactly the idea. This should work even better than several hands grabbing where they shouldn't and breaking your old and aged bark or an important branch. Besides, hoists. levers and jacks have infinite patience and never complain or need to meet inconvenient time limits. Or need to be given the obligatory reward. Or get injured on the job. There are ways to cheat a bit--block and tackle under your deck/eaves/garage, etc. padded strapping around the trunk--hang the tree in the air by the strapping/block and tackle.
My big brother has been using this method for years. The disadvantage of this is that it is not mobile to lift the heavy pot from the garden's ground to the table and vice versa.Block and tackle, with drum strap. Cheap from Amazon Prime and fun to use. Now I buy big trees just so I can play with it! 3 cheers for mechanical advantage!

Just look on Craigslist. It will be much cheaper and you don't have to pay shipping fee for this heavy stuff. I bought mine only $50 through Craigslist.True and hard to keep it vertical. But it was only $20! Your lift looks like the better method. I was just looking at them on eBay!
If you did the heavy lifting often and consistently with the proper ergonomics yes, it would be a way to stay fit, sort of, but doing it once in a while is a great way to cause injury.I feel if you have nice big and heavy bonsai's that are heavy and you need help lifting, it is a great problem to have and some good exercise also. If its to heavy to lift there is no choice but to get help weather its a hoist or another person. My girlfriend weighs 91lbs. I need to stay fit
