I believe I hold my hand...my favorite bonsai book to date. Just now sinking my teeth into it. But...well written and it takes a twist on the info found inside. And goes further on design.

This is the revised edition and much larger than his first book. Very nice hardcover book with amazing information packed inside.

I also picked up a copy at the ABS show. I have the first edition which is great. The new edition is even better.

chapter 14 is my favorite. It has been my good fortune to have david as a personal friend. I was a volunteer when he was curator of the Pacific Rim Bonsai Display. I see him about once a week and we work on trees together.

A bit of unfortunate news, David recently had a house fire, which did a tremendous amount of smoke damage. Fortunately no injuries but a stressful time for the family. All the trees survived unharmed.

I know david has plans for a third book in the future....:)

My FIL used to work for fire restoration...set off a few bombs to get in areas you can't paint and such. It is why I can not leave and have my dryer running...nor trust my automatic curling iron to shut off. And why I heat water in my microwave instead of stovetop... (to many times calling neighbor to see if I turned off burner)

My favorite book for what it gave me back.

chapter 14 is my favorite.:)

It is also my favorite chapter, read it three times before setting up my tree in a recent show. I enjoy David's critiques in bonsai shows, he is very knowledgeable in both bonsai and penjing, and is able to point out the subtleties of each display. It is always nice to hear what he said reinforcing what I learned from his book.
