Not exactly suiseki but...

I have found a variety of interesting little rocks that resemble landscapes or sculpture (to me anyway). These were found in many of the same places I have or plan to collect trees. I have put some of these on interesting little containers I have found at the local recycling depot. Point is, would any of these make good accents for bonsai displays down the road, or have potential as suiseki if I ever learn to carve diazas?

Some of them are really interesting, no doubt that with a daiza or on a suiban they'd look even better.

Friggin nice!

Good eye!

I'd love to see them displayed and shot a little better...

Totally worth it!

Good photos take a little effort. Can't blame the trees and rocks. Start with removing the background clutter. And use better lighting to show some texture.

I think the stones in photos 2 and 3 are too commonplace to use for displays but all the others are very good. Good finds.

I like the picture stone. Looks like T-rex to me.
Time to get busy on some daizas!

They are beautiful. What matters is if you like them.

I know it's a dormant thread, but I took some of your advice and tried carving some rudimentary diaza with my 15 year old for a couple of my stones. Lots to improve on, but it was fun. With dormant trees and Covid restrictions, it's nice to have a few projects.
