For a new aquascape, I am considering buying some stones online. I was thinking I could use the leftover stones or stones that don't fit into the hardscape for ROR bonsai. What type of aquascaping stones would be best for ROR? Would Seiryu or Dragon stone be good choices for Hornbeam, JBP, and trident maple RORs?

Here's some of the options:

Thanks for any opinions,
Joe

Are you able to select stones by pic there or do you just order by the kg and hope for the best?

I think you can only hope for the best at that specific website, but there are other sources that do have pictures.

I only used their website because they have good pictures of the stones that are used for aquascaping. I cant find any local places that sell aqua stones, but I'm sure I could find one online.

I have been wondering about two types of rock. Does anyone know if this I rock from the ocean and or rock with a high iron content would be ok for root over rock? Not sure if ocean rock would work with the high salt content?

You can try to get most of the salt out by treating the rock?
