Mame
I'm new to the bonsai lifestyle ,
And of course like a lot of people the first thing I want to try my hands on is a privet.
But I'm the type of person that doesn't want just any privet, I like to look for trees that are being abused by humanity .
I like to save them from almost certain death . But like every beginner I have killed a few trying to save them .
But anyway ,,I was driving my little girl to school A couple of months ago and noticed The highway department cutting Old privet bushes back away from A major highway .
I didn't think much of it but as I went to pick her up that evening I noticed all they did was Cut everything into stumps while leaving The trash that has accumulated There over the years just lying about .
Fast forward to the present day Everything is still how they left it . So sad!
I decided to get on the phone and get permission from the highway department to collect some of these privet stumps.
( and that was fun trying to explain to them what I wanted to do )
But they granted me access and away I went, ,, I had to dig through some trash but I found this little guy And decided to take him home.
It ended up having lots of feeder roots and in my mind has great potential .
I built a custom cedar training box for it and will keep y'all updated in the morning with pictures .
Would love to have some input to see this little guy survive .
