We had some funny old frost at the start of the week - this Larch has no needles, this is just ice.

It's not been ridiculously cold (-6C/21F).

Thanks for some inspirational shohin sized trees.
Hell yeah, I've mentioned this winter weather issues in other thread. Frozen to the bones, for long weeks, we expect another 10-14 days below zero, down to -20℃ in night... Started being afraid of the trees left on my balcony.
How do you keep your CHE, it's so green? One of mine started to push new foliage in a cold room, so I repotted it last week and now I worry about it, aah...

I have a greenhouse which I heat very mildly (with a tiny heater) to stay at or above -2C/28F. That seems enough to make them hold their leaves.

Beautiful photos of a phenomenon I have yet to ever see first hand.

I for one really like winter, in-fact it is my favorite season. I also generally like rainy overcast weather, however, I am not such a huge fan of the latter when it seemingly should be cold enough for snow and other typical "mid-winter" weather. It has been more like Seattle here the past week, which I would certainly prefer over 80F (Florida) but still...
