I am just wondering what your thoughts are on this piece. I have begged and offered for years to own this thing and finally own it. Now after I have given "Cousin It" a hair cut, I'm not really sure why I wanted it. Will I ever be able to make anything out of this very odd looking thing?

This is a European Hornbeam we potted/bagged the other day. The owner has made this a yearly event and likes them BIG! This beam actually squatted his Ford truck pretty good! After driving 4 hours, making his decision and doing the work from ground to pallet bag... We were beat!

These are Bloodgood and Select Red, NOT GRAFTED. 2 1/2" diameter to 8" trunks. There are 48 of them total and some decent movement in most of them. They were just dug Monday and we will start reducing them in the morning.

These are 2-6 years old. Some have 3/4" diameter trunks up to 2". Most I have chopped already but some are not. Here are some pics.

This Ginkgo was chopped below the graft and is growing female leaders, I won't mind if it never produces stink beans. It has a lot of dead wood on this side, but still growing. Back in the bed it goes.

This is a bud grafted Ginkgo that was chopped and pushed out 3 years ago. I just dug it up today, knocked some more field mud off and cut the bigger roots back some more and planted it back in the bed. It is still growing the male side, so no stinkers.

Does anyone mess with these guys? They seem to have decent characteristics. I dug 40 of them today and potted them and have about 40 more to dig. They have been in the ground for 24 years. Just wondering how good they will do as bonsai. Here is a pic of one of the three I am going to play with.

Bought a Chojubai from a fella yesterday. It seemed over grown too me, long branches. So I chopped it to pieces. I started cutting and couldn't stop. It ended up in a 15 year old Sara Raynor porcelain pot. What do you think, my fello Nuts? Did I hack it enough?

I am looking for a pot for my Chojubai. 3 1/2 - 4" round, maybe lotus or square, I am pretty positive about White, maybe with Blue pattern on the sides. This is my chubby friend. If anyone has one that may work and you would part with, I will be happy to purchase. Thanks!
