I was given seeds approximately 2 years ago and these 6 trees/plants sprouted. The person that gave me the seeds believed they were giant sequoias. After a little research I'm not sure that this is the case. I'm new to bonsai and need help from some more experienced person.

Yea, definitely not. Just wondering if anyone has a idea of what direction to look

If you like the look of the foliage but are looking for something to learn on, consider our local version of the redwood: bald cypress. You can buy bare root seedlings by the hundreds for a couple dollars each and they are much more adaptedto our climate than redwood. Here's one option. They're easy to grow, but bonsai from them are difficult to execute. Because of that I typically don't recommend them to beginners. But since you like the look anyway, you can learn a lot of techniques (repotting, pruning, wiring etc..) using BC to be sure.
