..... make lemonade. I had to have a dying lightning-struck cypress tree cut down this morning. It was probably 30" diameter one foot above ground level. The tree guy had a bucket truck and had it down and blocked up in an hour. I spent another 2-3 hours hauling and piling the branches. After lunch, I rolled the blocks 30' and built my bonsai garden. I need to level some blocks and put down stepping stones and/or mulch. I can enjoy it like it is for a while.

His name is Thor. Kind of fitting, don't ya think? :^ )

It has a base 14" wide with another 1 1/2" more on each side hiding below soil level waiting to be exposed later. It's 39" high and was pulled out of the swamp 15 months ago. I lost almost 2 months of prime growing time last spring because of some chemical damage while it was submerged in the bayou behind my house.

Oh, by the way, check out the addition I made to the lowly Home Depot mortar tub. I added a base with feet and a separate removable top. It adds a bit of class to the plastic tub until I can find (afford !) a huge pot for this monster.

make one; Asians use cast cement regularly from what I can see.
could leech it out in the bayou mentioned. just a suggestion.
secondly, spray around those logs. plant some low plant material
to act as an edging. those logs are always beautiful used as stands. beat up with a weed eater--not so much.

Lemons I can use.....politicians? Well, technically, it's a real estate agent, (and not a very good one) against a "lawyer"/Slick Willie "wife".....shady deals, and dis-regard of oath and vows for convenience sake....yet folks still line up to vote.....it's like a bad TV show, and it's on every channel!!!!

Nice space!! Wopper of a BC!!!

Armetisius, I have since mulched the whole area out to a foot past the logs. I did spray for bugs, also. I got two free pickup loads of sugar cane bagasse from right down the road to act as mulch. You gotta love free.

Thanks, Lance. He's a big one and I promised myself it's the last 75 lb bonsai. I used about 1/4 perlite and it is still is too heavy.
