Question about mulberry

My sister had a small mulberry tree in a glass of water all winter. She gave it to me a couple of weeks ago. She never had it outside and it still bears a green leaf. My question is, should I put it in my refrigerator to simulate winter or is it IMG_1019.JPG too late? I'm concerned what will happen to it from not experiencing a winter cycle.
Thanks,
Dan

No, don't do that now that it's this close to spring. On warm days you can set it into the sun for a while. Don't set it out in full sun all at once or it may burn. When it gets warm enough there...above 30° NIGHTIME temps, set it into partial shade for a week or two, then full sun. Next winter you will want to store in an unheated garage.

In my first "bonsai winter" i germinated a ton of seeds way early and they basically had 10 month growing season (some of it indoors) eveyrthing did fine. Just like vicn said, baby that mulberry next winter a little, and then it should be fine
