Posting a few "then and now" photo montages of several of my trees. Some of you may have seen these before, but thought to put a few together in one thread. I enjoy doing these side by side comparisons as it is hard sometimes to realize how much trees change and evolve with the passing of time.

Please feel free to post your own side by side comparisons here as well.

Your trees are incredible and so is your photography.

Ramification/refinement on all your trees over the years is crazy cool.

How did you get so much Nebari development on Maple pic 1 in just 7 years? Amazing!

Wonderful....thanks for sharing. I'd like to pick your brain on so many of the techniques you show. And what a collection you have!

Thanks Coach! I wish I could lie about the nebari. The truth is, it was hidden under the soil. However, to my credit, it also did not look like that! I have also improved it with root grafts.

Thanks Vicn! Sure. Just PM if you prefer. I don't have all the answers but I may have a few. :)

Really great trees! Number two makes me really happy! It presents a great image of a JM, and those branches and leader were developed quite quickly.

Awesome is the best word I can muster....:)
Thank you for posting this progressions @MACH5. It's fizzes my inspirational juices and a good reminder how important it is to keep careful track of tree progressions.
@aml1014. I like how you progressed with that mulberry Aaron. I like the sleek lines of it. Got a tree near me that reminds me of it.

I am glad I stuck with it. When it almost completely died on me a few years back, I was seriously heartbroken and almost threw it out, out of simple disgust!

Thank you Peter! It is however a rather poor observation. I wish for a good pair of glasses for you for Christmas! :p
I know there're much more species knowing them from your threads.:) Deci master wouldn't sound better.

Thanks Fredman! I think it is important to keep good records of your trees. I rarely photographed anything before and wished I had. When I joined this forum back in 2011, it somehow gave me encouragement to keep better records. I saw this in some of the best guys here (BVF, Fredtruck, Dav4, Smoke, Adair, JohnG to name just a few) and inspired me to do the same.

Ha! You are relentless. Before I get to where you think I may be, I have to get really good first. Working on it. ;)

I am confused MACH5. Is the sixth pair of pictures the J. beech forest that you purchased at the Kennett Square auction?
