FREE Admission to exhibition, bonsai demos and vendors.

This is the 10th year for this nationally recognized show. It is held in what is likely the most elegant location for a bonsai show - a 4 story marble lined atrium. Many say this is their favorite show of the year, where trees are exhibited in their winter best form. Exhibitors and vendors come from all over the country. Demos by world-class bonsai artists. Bonsai auction Saturday evening. Banquet dinner by reservation Saturday evening.

Location
North Carolina Research Campus, 150 N Research Campus Drive, Kannapolis, NC 28081.

The campus is located 3 miles off I-85 at Exit 60. Turn NW toward Kannapolis, drive 3.2 miles, turn right on South Main St., drive 1 mile to campus on left.

Nearest Airport - Charlotte Douglas International (CLT) 30-40 min drive

Note - exhibition tables are all reserved, vendor booths are sold out. Saturday dinner banquet is ALMOST sold out - just a few tickets left!

Is this event worth it to come down from PA? Looks like there's only 60 tables. I'm looking to buy quality bonsai.

The number of display tables are limited, but the quality of the displays are excellent. This event tends to draw people who are experienced bonsai artists, rather than the general public. Therefore, the vendors cater to an educated clientele. This is the best winter time show on the Eastern Coast. There will be good bonsai for sale.

I hope there will be more pre-bonsai trees around $200-500 for sale at this year's show. There was some nice stuff last year, but it was all around $1,000 or more. I felt like there wasn't nearly enough in the low to mid price range besides seedlings.

Like last year, I have the intention of bringing a good amount of cash and coming home with at least two pieces of quality pre-bonsai material. Looking forward to it!

Thanks guys. In that case, I may make an effort to go down. Willing to spend some money on an excellent bonsai or pre-bonsai.

usually Mark Comstock is there but he had the flu last year and didn't make it down. He should have some really good material this year.

You going this year? I missed linking up with you last year. Make sure you stop by and say hello. @penumbra will have a table right next to me.
Yeah - I plan on going up Saturday around noon. I'll be there through the banquet!
