Here's a few photos of this weekends event here. Great show. More about doing Bonsai than displaying Bonsai. Great workshops, really good material, wonderful instructors.

Those look great. More pics please :) Can't get enough of these little guys.
So you guys got some hands on action during the event?
I really like that idea.

Oh ya. This event was ALL about "doing" Bonsai and not so much about displaying or showing bonsai.

Our workshop was supposed to have been done by Dana Quattlebaum but he blew out his knee.
They replaced him with a local guy named Jack Bacus. Good guy, been in Bonsai 35 years.

Some of the other instructors included, Andy Smith, Guy Guidry, Jim Doyle, Mike Hansen, Pauline Muth, and most notably, Nobuichi Urushibata. Great folks all in all. Guidry was fantistic, Urushibata was amazing to watch but he doesn't talk, even a little bit.

They put all the workshops in one large common area and when I wasn't working my own tree, (a Korean Hornbeam), I was wandering around listening to the other instructors.
I really liked this format.
Here are a couple fuzzy phone pictures. I'll see if I can get more from our photographer at the show.

Hey not to bad for a phone camera. I love those things and yet hate em :)
So many teachers so little time huh?
I would have had to bounce around as well. Was it a whole weekend event?

The little Maple in the last set gives me some inspiration for a little guy I'm working on now.
Thanks
