I recently discovered a new secret watering technique that I have never seen in a book or heard of, even from Al. Photos are the only way I can show you what I am talking about.

When I get up in the morning, Emma says, "Wata trees, wata trees!" I think she likes it.
She loves to be outside helping with the trees. Her favorite are the "Baby trees." (my seedlings on the side yard) She says, "Shhhhhhhhsh" don't wake the baby trees!" She also loves the plastic owl I put out there to keep the birds away.

She is 21 months, so watch out bonsai masters, I am starting her young!

It's such a blessing to have a hobby that I can do with my beautiful daughter.

God is good!

Are there no child labor laws in Fresno? Seriously, give her one or two trees now and by the time she is an adult they will be as stunning as their owner.

Reminds me of my own childhood although I couldn't wait for a bottle of water so I used the scrambled eggs my mon was preparing for dinner ;)

That is really cute!

My daughter is four and a half now but has been the same as yours since she was very little. To this day she waters my trees with me every morning. She even asks me to teach her the types of trees. So far she has Japanese black pine , juniper, crape myrtle, and Japanese maple memorized.

You're ahead of the curve, Grizzly. By the time my daughter was 21 months old, 2 of my best trees had died from neglect:mad:. Beautiful little girl...You're a lucky man:)(until she's a teenager:D),

Mine is almost 9, but still likes to do bonsai things with Daddy -- unless friends want to come over and play Barbies! ;) Oh, well.

I've always said that I want her to follow her own gifts. If a love of bonsai is truly hers, I've given her a head start. If it's just something to do with Daddy, well, I'll enjoy it while it lasts.

Hi grizz
Sure is one cute kid, and it's never too soon to start. Whenever I go out of town my little son takes over my trees, he is a little older-----------------------48.
Good growing

Found a decent picture of my loyal assistant, tho the pic is about 5 years old.

(The lawn badly needed mowing that day. And it needs it now, so I will sign off.)

I teach middle school students, so I've known my share of self-centered, impulsive adolescents; however, there are a lot of great young people out there. Sharing and caring parents help the odds.

PS One rule of thumb: our children need more of our attention than do our trees!
