A gallery http://bonsainut.com/forums/photopost/showgallery.php/cat/531/page/1 featuring some of my trees that are, IMHO, pretty enough or far enough along to post, can be found here, in case anyone might want to view and enjoy them. They seem to load in reverse order from what I expected, so some of the more developed ones are towards the end. Enjoy.

Thanks for sharing your gallery Grouper! You've got some great trees there. I can see that you have a certain style for literati bonsais. My favorite is the old chinese elm. And the redwood too!

Thanks, everyone. My style is often not very traditional, so it's nice that folks here can see beyond that. Glad you enjoyed the trees.

Thanks, guys.

Eric, glad you've enjoyed my posts and trees.

Jason! It was really great to see you again as well. Zenah says hi. You certainly had a lot of marvelous trees at the auction, and I hope they fetched a good price. I've simply got to drive down your way again sometime in the near future and meet Rain, put down a few brews with you, walk the fields again, etc. Would love to see the progress on "The Great One" (the juniper!) in person as well. Late summer, early fall may work for me, so let's stay in touch.

Hi Andy. Thanks. I've actually thinned out that shimpaku foliage and begun refining the deadwood a bit more this season, but won't post again 'til next year after a repot to offer a slightly better front. If you're asking about the field grown Trident, it's there in the gallery. If you're asking about he huge-based field grown Japanese maple, it's not far enough along yet to post in the gallery - still too much merely a "work-in-progress," and probably better posted without its foliage anyway.

Hi Dwight. Thanks for the kind words. I'm still strongly influenced by the Chinese, but I've been quite influenced by Dan's approach as well, and the two actually have a surprising amount in common. The book, BTW, is largely done, and in early publishing negotiations. Because of a few factors that are more complicated than I want to go into here, however, it will probably not come out for another year or so. Hope you're doing well after your recent travail.

This is my first post in BonsaiNut, thank you for sharing your beautiful trees. I also love the sugar maple, I am growing a shohin (or what I intend in the future to be a shohin) sugar maple. So far the leaves have actually reduced a bit so maybe there's hope for this species? The fall color can be unbeatable. I look forward to learning even more about the hobby through this forum!
