The less one knows the louder he knows it. I'll not say to whom this is directed.

As Cinderella's prince once said, if the shoe fits, wear it

As for the rest of you,
Thank you! Your answers are quite helpful.

If, like myself (especially previous to coming here) you don't know what to look for and in many cases do not know to look in the first place, there is no way to know truth from error except to ask those more knowledgeable than myself. Google has amazing features but as far as I know it has never grown a bonsai.
Or has it? Ha ha. :D

I quoted the wrong thing! That's hilarious.

For the record, my pine only has a small amount of shrivel in the bark and the needles look greener (except the dead ones). As compared to a few days ago.

I like the way this tree looks and intended to develop it into a bonsai if it lives. Which looks more likely.

Anyone who doesn't like it is welcome to say so. But the only thing that will stop me is the trees death.
For anyone new to the thread, yes it's a twig, in a jar full of tree Gatorade.
Hopefully by the time it has done some growing (in the ground, outside) I will know what to do next.

Check your zipper.

Did you?

This tree doesn't look good. It belongs outside or perhaps a greenhouse. These trees are often found buried in snow all winter in the mountains and can tolerate very low temps, but the air inside will dry it out completely.

Do you like wild kittens that bite like devils? We have some under our shed you can have.

Code talk!

Watch Lonesome Dove...it's only 6 hours...
But it's a good flick.

Pussy under a shed...sounds trashy.!

That tree ain't alive!
Is it?

I can't believe this Thread is sooo long...
And sooo mostly not really about that tree....

Devilish, knife clawed, razor toothed fiends under the shed.

If your looking for a cat talk to jade.

The pine yet lives, though somewhat less manly.
Photo be provided tomorrow, or next week.

The real test will be if it grows.

The tree can look alive when it's really dead.

The opposite, though likely less often, is also true!

Something tells me it is still alive....
It may be in need of a miracle......

But I think our crazy Woodland friend may actually see it through!

I hope so!

If you are serious about learning bonsai there is one thing you have to conquer; your confrontational attitude. My journey down the bonsai road has been mostly on my own because when I started there were only two people teaching bonsai in America. You do not have that problem.

You can choose to make arguments for doing things your way when advised by some other growers who have been growing bonsai long before you were able to wipe your own back side. Or; you can choose to listen and learn. Otherwise; if you somehow learn enough to keep your tree or trees alive you will, in twenty years, still be a beginner learning little and rejecting everything.

You will continue to bash your head against walls, fall into pits, and go down roads that lead no where until you are willing to humble yourself and learn from others. Then you will know what you know and have the added advantage of knowing what they know as well.

Sometimes our own worst enemies are our imaginations of how things should be and our inability to accept the way things really are.

Your quoting a response to the previous post.
Do you really think I'm being confrontational?
Seriously, why so serious?

He he ha hmmm.

If I took all the conflicting and contradictory opinions expressed without question I'd be even more confused than my natural state.

All I can do is try to sort out what makes sense to me and go with that.
Learning from others is kinda the whole point of my being here. Other than causing chaos, I mean.
