It's a pity not much is going on here. Many feel that bonsai and tea go together like spaghetti and meatballs. In Slovakia they even have a magazine dedicated to it.

Browsing around in the abandoned, malarial backwaters of the site tonight, and well, well, well . .. ten posts here in almost five years (not counting BNuts' intro remarks)! What a success!

The Tea House is certainly a monument of praise to the p.c. wimps who were offended by the micro-aggressions of the old, wonderful "Bar." True nitwits and microcephalics who distinguished themselves by throwing endless hissy fits five years ago until they got this "safe zone" created to protect their precious sensibilities. Well done, guys, and nice to see you all crowding here enjoying the fruits of your outrage.

So .... no politics, no religion . . . what can I discuss that will be OK among such refined and delicate company . . . ?

Hmmm .... well . . . let's try this: How'z 'bout those "Sustain" pills you can get on Amazon? Anyone else tried those "herbal dietary supplements?!?

I'm not exactly sure what part of one's diet they're supposed to "supplement," but the package explains the brand name with the enticing subtitle, "ALL NATURAL ... INSANE RESULTS."

And indeed they are! The "DIRECTIONS:" on the back of the box (which contains what initially seems like a paltry ten capsules for the price) reads:

"Take 1-2 capsules 40 or more minutes before an intimate encounter.
The effects of Sustain last for 3-4 days."

No! NOT a typo: 3-4 DAYS!!! And no, not an exaggeration!!!

And at the risk of blaspheming by discussing religion in the sacredly secular confines of the Tea House I believe the "effects" can best be described with "OMGGGGG!!!!!," which might as likely be screamed by either the direct or the indirect recipient of said "effects"!

And since I must compassionately leave any potentially injurious political statements out of this post as well, I will refrain from speculating on Bill Clinton's Amazon review of this product, which essentially claims, "I did not have to use it when I did not have a 4 day encounter with that woman."

Nuff said.

So.

I was wrong here: Not knowing the structure of this establishment, I now realize that I had only stumbled into the introductory thread of the Tea House, unaware of the umpteen thousand other worthy conversation threads careening on further within the joint. I’m only in the foyer, the ante-chamber, the vestibule, the entrance hall: The main action in the rest of the TH is indeed worthy - quantity-wise - of a new venue to replace the Bar. I stand corrected.

But here’s how I see it: I’m strangely detached from the action taking place there, inside the TH, and I’m not much of a fan of tea, anyway. I’ve got a bottle of Whistle Pig under my coat, and my good friends Sorce and Mike have come in with me, and others might follow. And so, since I have little reason (in my current tree-less state) to interact in the usual tree-related forums outside the TH, and little interest to go on inside the TH - I think it might be fun just to hang out here with friends in the foyer, posting occasional thoughts - if you can call them that - when the inspiration hits.

This idea - camping out with some friends in the TH foyer on BNut - has been much on my mind, and I was chewing it over at dinner last night with my wife during a break in our latest three-to-four day escapade, while also chewing on some tapas at the bistro to which we had fled while our house was being shown between intimate encounters.

[I need to make it clear, BTW - this being the TH - that the encounters were neither religious, as in Vajrayana Yab/Yum Tantric rituals, nor were they political, in that Bill (of Hillary fame, now) was not concurrently setting up flights for us on the infamous “Lolita Express” to the island home of his friend and convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.]

To be more exact about the set and setting of the tandem or simultaneous chewing, the tapas was most marvelous - a thinly sliced and deliciously cured ham from some sort. It was titled, “A Taste of Bezos” on the menu. I asked the waitress for details about the specifics that had led to such wonderful flavor, and she went back to the kitchen to consult with the chef, and returned after a truly lengthy interval to relay the following:

This exquisite ham had been cured using a special recipe and process that was secret, she apologized, but much of the quality of the meat was also due to the breeding and feeding of the pigs involved. These were some super-uber special breed of northern Italian black pigs of some sort, a breed that Mr. Bezos had imported to raise exclusively on the roof of his new Amazon mega-headquarters across the Puget Sound in Seattle. Word is that these gourmet pigs - at the insistence of the compassionate Mr. Bezos - had been raised since birth solely on a diet of books that had been returned to Amazon for poor binding.

The pigs had also been raised, not with Mozart or other music piped in continuously, as is done with some upper-end beef cattle, but with piped in recordings or readings of vendor complaints about the policies and procedures they endured in working with Amazon. Apparently Mr. Bezos had personally found such recordings uniquely relaxing and uplifting, and figured that animals with similar minds might do so as well.

Well, I’m here to tell you that the results of his breeding insights were deeply impressive, as if one were savoring with each bite the very essence of the man himself. Delicious, and probably best washed down with some Whistle Pig, not tea.

1. The juxtaposition of a non-political photo of the Obama family on a non-political vacation,

fb-pic-of-obamas-family-BS-1.jpg

2. With a non-religious Da Free John quote,

"And so, this is my report to you. And I can tell you that the purpose of existence is to surrender to the Light, the radiant being in which the world and all beings are arising - not for the sake of whatever changes may appear
experientially in the beginning of one’s practice, or even in some of its later stages, but for the sake of God - simply. And when that process fulfills itself, body and mind are acquired by that Light, body and mind both are
converted, transfigured by that radiance.

"Everybody wonders if there is God. Everybody. There’s nobody who doesn’t wonder. There’s nobody who wouldn’t like it to turn out to be true. But what is the remarkable thing about that is that there is only God. And God
is completely obvious and present, pervading all, and existing as all."

Da Free John

3. With a non-religious/ non-spiritual Cruz Halo:

4. With a list of air-tight aged tobaccos, and the number of half pint mason jars I have of each, all from 2007:
1. Solani Silver Flake
2. Old Gowrie 8

3. Old Master
4. Dummerston 3
  1. Old Companion 2
  2. Blatter & Blatter Reserve 2
7. Blackwood Flakes 1

  1. Stonehaven 1
  2. Brigade Campaign 1
  3. Full Virginia Flake 1
  4. Brindle Flakes 1
  5. Troost Slices 1
  6. Hal O’ the Wynd 1
  7. Red Ribbon 1
  8. Armada 1
  9. AJ’s VaPer 1
  10. LA Red 1
  11. Sunza Bitches 1
  12. Bohemian Mixture 1
  13. Anniversary Cake 1
  14. High Hat 1
  15. #524 1
  16. Bevenwyeke 1
  17. Larry’s Blend 1
  18. P & W #10 1
  19. House of Lords 1
  1. I’ve also got one each of some other odds and ends I can throw in if someone wants to buy all the mason jars together as a lot. All of these have been opened, but are in flat tins or in round tins with plastic covers, or in zip lock bags, and can probably be rehumidified to an acceptable degree if needed:
Mostly Full Flat Tins:

Orlic Dark Kentucky Flakes (50g)

Penzance (2 OZ)

Irish Flake (2 OZ)

1792 Flake (50 g)

Black XX (50g)

Mostly Empty Flat Tins:

Solani Silver Flake (100 g)

Troost Slices (100g)

Mostly Full Round Tins:

Rattray Black Virginia (100g)

McClellan’s Virginia Wood (100g)

McClellan’s Black Shag (50g)

McClellan’s Yenidje Supreme (50g)

McClellan’s Yenidje Highlander (50g)

G.I. Pease Westminster (50g)

Mostly Empty Round Tins:

Hal O’ the Wynd

Old Cowrie

McCrannie’s Red Ribbon

Blackwoods Flake

Plastic and Zip-lock Bags: (I’ll estimate the weight)

Craven’s Claw from Rich’s Cigar Store, Portland. 2 OZ, A great aged Virginia by their best maker, if I recall correctly.

Luxury Flake: also from Rich’s, 2 OZ

Stonehaven - about ten slices.

Dark Plug from Mars Cigars, a 2 OZ and a 4 OZ plug.

Trout Stream, from www.pipesandcigars.com 10 OZ.

Mettowee from Pipeworks and Wilke, 8 OZ

then a catalogue of aged tobaccos I have for sale (sacred to Native Americans, but deemed by the local authorities as "non-religious"), and a surprisingly non-political/non-regilious photo of the main players as the non-religious "Ultimate" mojo comes on way too fast and too disorienting to really incorporate the message of the involved psychedelics, which are all simply screaming to my psyche to line up all my tantras and mantras into a neater sacred diagram, and to get up early the next few days and raise the flag of my host country

with 5: a Cruz-Halo. [You just can't make this non-policical stuff up!!]

Done! But no - I thought the foyer was right here . . . . was it moved to SoCal during my absence, or during my absinthe?

I gave up my much-loved pipe smoking after a brush with a 90% occlusion of the LAD (Left Anterior Descending) coronary artery eight years ago. The LAD is affectionately known as "The Widow-maker," and in my case the odd little kink in the plumbing that caused the turbulence that led to the occlusion it is apparently genetic, in that two of my sibs died of occlusions at similar kinks in the exact same site in the years since mine occurred.

I believe it's illegal to talk of selling tobacco, or at least to follow-through on such talk without a special license, but this treasure is looking for a good home, Mike . . .
