This year while I was out hunting ponderosa pines, my fiancé noticed this little Douglas Fir and she WANTED it lol.
Well she is all for my hobby but she doesn't do bonsai herself.
Well, I know she already forgot about it, so I played with it a little.

It didn't grow much this year, but it looks like it hasn't grown much ever!
Also a little extra present was a seedling ponderosa that popped up in the pot, it's grown a lot! Haha

Of course as usual I didn't take before pictures, but I wired this tree about a month ago and for some reason it seems happier!

Here's the result of my wiring20160821_074241.jpg
The needles are insanely short!20160821_081836.jpg
And it is back budding all over the place.20160821_081902.jpg

I figured I could develop this tree into a nice little shohin and present it to my fiancé in a few years and remind her about it.lol

Almost forgot the ponderosa that came up!20160821_074251.jpg
I'll have to separate them somehow.

Perhaps fall 17 could repot and separate. Spring likely too soon. Just be sure of good aftercare. Wire looks too tight. Personal Doug fir wants to spring back after wiring 1 1/2 years and wire is already starting to cut in so suspect need to leave for at least 3 years;).

You'd be surprised to hear that I've actually sold about 25 of the youngins in the last couple weeks, yes I've also gotten 2 new trees, but phrase of the week is stack ranking!

What if one were to leave the wire on...forever...
Let the tree grow over it...?

The wire isnt on tight at all, just snug.
I'll leaves wire on an Alberta spruce forever, but not a collected tree! Lol even if it's a little guy.

My teacher gave me this crescent pot she made about 10 years ago so I slipped these two into it, I think it's a cute little scene.20161023_110946.jpg
