I hope that you all have a wonderful holiday season. Soon we will all be off doing holiday things with the family. Traveling to see distant relatives or hosting them at our homes. Lot's of things to do to prepare for a couple of weeks of fun. Hopefully everyone is done shopping and ready for Christmas eve, when we gather around a tree! Resist the temptation to pull out those shears and concave cutters, someone has labored long and hard to decorate the tree. They didn't notice that some of the branches need pruning - to them trimming a tree involves ornaments and garland (not directional pruning and working on a new apex).

For those who are about to travel to be with family and friends be careful and enjoy your time. For those who are about to host the traveling family enjoy that as well! We're not here forever so make the most of the time you have.

Ummm, well it really did need pruning. It actually made a very nice Bunjin. A bit large, but nice.

Ok trimmed the tree,debating whether or not to cut the apex off, needs some of the branches cut out, too, could cut the entire top half off? Hmmm

Hi Paddles, Think to the future, cut for future development as discussed in some of your other posts. Put in the ground (where have you heard that before) and be patient.

Heres a suggestion for a tree that will grow at an amazing rate and you an over abundence of them Casurina equestrifolia or Austrailian Pine. Down there I think its called a she tree or horse tail tree. This will grow really fast you can collect it so it will be cheap and only a small amount of patience is needed

casurina's are a bit of a pest, the roots are more invasive than a weeping willow, and they are finicky growers. (I can't put that tree in the ground, I'm out of space.

Paddles that one you don't need to put in the ground. A large pot works well which takes care of the roots. The one I posted in the gallery has out preformed every other tree collected in the same time frame. However if its not your thing, then its not your thing.
