I am new to Bonsai and am training a Coral Beauty Cottonester. I live in New Jersey and wonder if I should leave it outside or bring it in? Its inside now and still has leaves but looks like it may be drying out. What should I do? Please help.

Thank you,
Gene

They do belong outside all year but in your climate you must protect the roots with mulch and place the tree out of the wind. As hardy as they are they do not do well in a potted environment without protection. I can tell you this through experience with them; I have lost a couple of nice ones before I finally got that lesson through my amply thick head.

Ive always heard the same thing. They should be outside, but protected in winter with mulch around pot and up the trunk a little.
