This "Lil Ollie" Olive was purchased about eighteen months ago. The first photo was taken the day I bought it. The second photo is after pruning it that spring. The final photo is how it looks today. The tree is fifteen inches tall and thirty inches across.

a bit of hijacking by a new member here if i may
i'm going to try my hand at an olive and am headed to the nursery tomorrow
i was kind of worried about what exactly to look for so i bonsai-nutted the search engine and got this free of charge :D
http://bonsainut.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2780&highlight=olive

it's exactly what i needed; brand new, how to trim it, and how it will look as it grows out

thank you, and to the point, any last minute advice?

Healthy tree but I would like to see the right hand branch and left hand branch (lower) gone to give a line for this tree. Only my humble opinion.

I've just repotted this tree a little lower in the pot. It grew quite fast the first season I cut it back, but has been pretty slow growing at this point, so not a lot of change.

I'm seriously thinking about cutting it back substantially. Here's a virt. What do you think?

Hello bonsai barry, I like the virt of it cut back.. Can you post other pics of the tree from different angles? The trunk seems to be growing backwards, away from the viewer.. Is that the best front and angle for this tree? It is always tough to tell in pics.
