This is a small shimp that Will ( the Grouper ) got for me at Bonsai Northwest when I was really down about bonsai. It was 2006 believe and he was kind enough to pick it out and ship it too me. I still think I owe him more money.

You bet he is. It came out pretty close to the first.. Planting angles are something that I still have trouble with.

Ok... so now I want to come swimming in your pool....lol

Ok... back to the tree.... it's coming along nicely. Have you toyed with putting more movement into that right side subtrunk/branch? Maybe guying it down a bit...?

Hello Dwight.. You are right.. it is starting to look like a bonsai and coming along nicely. I agree with Victrinia about guy wiring that branch on the right. Seems like you did a great job guy wiring the other 2 branches...Maybe have the super glue on stand by just in case...:)

Also, that banch is rather thick as far as proportions go..Since the tree is almost like a split trunk or sling shot sort of variation, that branch is going to get even thicker since most of the energy is going into 2 main leaders. You probably want to decide relatively soon what or if you are going to do with it. To keep it from getting a lot thicker, you may want to make sure that you prune more on that branch or you could jin a prtion of the branch.. However, that is risky and you would have to make sure that the whole branch is alive before you reduced it.

It is coming along nicely...

Wellllll . . . I wondered and worried what became of that tree! But I see there was no need at all to worry. :D

Great progress, Dwight. I agree with the thoughts of Vic and October, though some of the work may be difficult/risky. It's got to be brought down and in over time in one fashion or another, but it certainly is off to a great start. Makes me very happy to have lent a hand when you were in need. :D And to think that it kept your hand in the game until you landed that great California juniper is an added pleasure indeed!

OK guys , I moved the branch down as much as I could for now. Unfortunately ( or not ) it also cane forward a little partially hiding the sharri going up the trunk. It actually looks much better in person than in my crappy photography. The third shot is the back
