I foolishly used the smaller particles of DE and it stays too wet...
I'm getting a little red/orange color cuz of it.

But with a careful eye they should come thru winter ok!

@defra did that one make it thru winter?

All the ones I treated the worst, root hacked and basketed or potted are great.

Ones that had top work and are still in black pots are 2 bad, 1 good.....hmmmm. .

All living enough to make me ....

Its doing great!
starting to push some fresh green leaves!

i kept it on its regular spot troughout the whole winter no protection seems like it didnt bother at all, but i must add that our winter was not realy cold tbh

I expect the thing to push some decent amount of growth this season,
gotta clip out the wire i have put in soon
And when the first growth is hardend off ill prune it back to stimulate the growth from the inside to give it as you would say: propper next's !

Nice pots dude love the glaze on the blue one looking forward to see your tree in it!

Yesterday's work.

Wire removed and slight prune to this one.20180413_120013.jpg

This one got hit with something and lost a couple branches so I pushed it back a little faster than I wanted. NFG. 20180413_120018.jpg

How the hell is this little pot going to work?
20180413_172520.jpg

Damn...it's way too light any way isn't it?

I got one healthy one in a black pot that needs planting....but I don't think either of these 2 pots are good for it....

Going be a potting year!

Nice Sorce!
You got some nice moss too!

Thanks! I think one was a before pic....
Before I let it air out and dry so I can brush the dog hair out of it...

I want to switch it for thinner moss when they start growing safely.

Furkin storm...I think I left those pots out!
Oh shit!

They're nice. I like the unglazed oval.
And the 3 boxwoods I have are yours when I see you.
You like them,I could care less.
If you want to hear of box abuse one has a vicious story to tell.
When I first got back into bonsai,it was winter. Worst time for it.
I went to a nursery/florist near me. They're open all year. He had a couple boxwoods so I bought one.
I took it home, sawed 3/4 of the roots off while frozen. I then brought it in and let the tree and root mass thaw out. In the sink in warm water. Once thawed,I barerooted it and put it in a bonsai pot. I then pruned it fairly hard. Brought it back in and stuck it under 400 watt metal halide. With a fan, humidity and carbon dioxide supplement.
I still have this tree.
And a Mugo that got the same treatment. Don't tell Vance.
I'll repot it in spring. Actually I plan on putting it into a colander.
This tree may not fit into what you got going on there. I don't play nice and it's a tough bastard. It isn't caring about balance or moon phases. It drinks miracle grow like mad. It hangs out in full sun from dawn till dusk. It takes showers in systemic Bayer 3 in 1 just because. It is frozen solid for 5 months and likes it.
The other 2 boxwoods I have are from the same place, probably just as tough.
