I'm going to be in Portland all of next week. I'm planning on paying a visit to Telperion Farms, as well as Oregon Bonsai. Are there any others I should plan to go to?

Have you made appts to Telperion and OB? Both are located at residence's and not really commerical nurseries like you would think with a store front and all. Check out Japan Bonsai on Barbur Blvd, its worth a stop. I haven't been there in a while, but Masa has been ill so I am not sure the state of the place. It is open 5 days a week....

Jason -

I have not made appts... didn't know I needed to. Thanks for the heads up.

If you are going as far south as Corvallis, you could check out Wee Tree:

Aside from the retail presence at Garland Nursery, the main nursery is in Philomath. You would need an appointment to visit there. Also, both Telperion and Oregon Bonsai are a ways away from Portland, just in case you didn't know.

Thanks for the additional suggestion. Although, I doubt I'll have time to make it down to Corvallis. It's our first visit to Portland, and we've got a lot of things on the 'to do' list. However, after the 12-14 hour drive from Salt Lake to Portland, an hour and a half drive from Portland to the nurseries isn't going to stop me. I was living in Virginia for a couple years and had a bonsai nursery about an hour from me. I've been living in bonsai exile for the last year and need a fix :).

I've not been to Telperion (but have heard good things), but Oregon Bonsai will certainly give you a good fix!
