Should make some t-shirts:

" VSW- Veteran of Soil Wars".

"Spent over a decade on Bnut, and all I got was this lousy t-shirt".

LOL I got some printed up about a year ago, but I wasn't 100% satisfied with the quality, and didn't have time to code the store front. In about a month my schedule should free up substantially and I will be able to tackle a few of these projects on my "back burner".

I joined Dec 26, 2006.
I was just checking user stats to see who were the users who have been around the longest, and the winner is:

@Vance Wood

Believe it or not, Vance joined this site when it was three days old - way back in October, 2006. @Smoke is #2, joining about two months later in December, 2006. There are only about ten active member accounts from 2006... and only those two members still visit regularly.

I joined Dec 26, 2006. I don't have the rep that Vance and Smoke do, but I'm on here every day.

Al's can say, " I'll teach you about Hardening Off, noob!"
Actually I can’t. I find the whole hardening off thing the most useless piece of information to crop up on this site since it started or the 15 years of forums I was on before that. But Ryan has talked about it so that makes it useful information to those that don’t work trees I guess. Parroting stuff that masters say is very 2018 and politically correct.

Everyone's gotta learn from someone...
I also think if you lived in a cooler climate with a shorter growing season, you may have a different tune to whisle....what I mean is, you can get away with things that others can't, as you well know...
But its not usless information, it's horticulture.

Yes!! Lest I miss someone else I should probably post a definitive list.

There are 65 accounts remaining for people who registered in 2006. Eliminating my account and the Admin account, there are 6 accounts belonging to people who have at least visited in 2018. They are:

Oct 29: @Vance Wood

Oct 29: @Gnome

Dec 4: @zelk

Dec 12: @Brent

Dec 26: @BrianBay9

Dec 26: @Smoke

Vance is user #6 (of all user accounts for all time, including admin accounts and deleted accounts), Gnome is user #7, zelk is user #32, Brent is user #48, BrianBay9 is user #64 and Smoke is user #66.

Well as one of the newest members, figured I'd drop in and say that it's great to be among such seasoned folks! Looking forward to learning a lot from you guys during slow times at work! ;)

I read somewhere that 2006 was the "Year of the Grouchy Pants" :p
You know I was thinking about that too. Not to put to fine a point on it but if you think about it it breaks out like this:

1. Grouchy pants.
2. Those that want great trees.

Pretty simple.

Any trees still around from 2006? Would be great progression piece.
