What causes black spot to form?
I know it has spores that float on the breeze, but what causes it in the first place?

Too wet?....I assume.

Been real wet this year...
Been seeing morw and more tiny black dots on my deciduous stuff...

I spray once or twice a day with 3% Hydrogen peroxide diluted in water about 50% or more....not sure if its helping or not...maybe helping with other stuff, but the black spots are spreading.

Elms, Hornbeams, maples...maybe even azaleas I noticed some suspicious stuff this morning on...

I'm gonna use Neem...and see if it improves...

Any better ideas?

Thanks!

I have a real problem with black spot, leaf curl, and powdery mildew, especially on my prunus, acer, and malus. I spray prophylactically once every couple of weeks, rotating daconil, mancozeb, and other fungicides. The main problem with these things is catching it before bud burst, so a good winter dormancy spray, and another hit of fungicide before bud break gives you a good head start on fungal control. It's a real headache, but there's no other way.

Yeah. I used several things over last winter, and bwfore bud burst, including copper and neem...

I read that neem is known to be affective against black spot.

I'll let see some Daconil once the sun goes down....but till then, I'm gonna crank up my headphones and play my drums along with Bill and Mickey!

...drums with Bill & Mickey...my friend you have priorities in order ¡¡:(:oops::);)

I just fed trees a healthy meal with the addition of a liberal dose of epsom salt...

Having read that the leaf armor afforded by epsom is good in the herbivory battle... in this mean ass campaign against the black leaf spots, I am hopeful that at the very least this magnesium cannot harm against the slings and arrows
