Hi guys,

I'm new here, hello! Someone sent me an this beautiful ancient Buddha head ruin with a message “I know you’re a bonsai hobbyist, can you add this to your next bonsai?” Challenge accepted! ??

First step was to cut parts of the base of the ornament to make room for the roots and and drill holes so the bonsai roots can grow in and around it. The Podocarpus I have was perfect as the elegant curve of the trunk fitted nicely on the side of the head. There was a first branch I didn't want to cut so I drilled a hole on the side and inserted that branch to the top.

The hidden jungle scene reveal!

Added the soil mixture, moss & a few podocarps cuttings to the left to look ‘jungly’. Ta da! I think it looks really cool! I can imagine a small excavation team finding this antient ruin with the enormous pine growing around it. Let me know what you think and any tips/advice would be appreciated :)
