For @Carol 83 , I managed to take some pictures of my camellia this evening after the rain past through. It looks like tomorrow night will be our first night below freezing, a frigid 31 degrees, and the flowers might not make it. What do you think?

It has been blooming like this for a month now. As you can see, the flowers are mostly on the inside of the tree, a results of a late summer trim. You have to treat these kinda like an azalea when pruning, if you prune too late, you cut the flowers off. Here is a shot of the trunk, it is not huge, but is decent. I would try to make it a shorter bonsai, but the flowers are huge.

I think wow, that's beautiful. And I wish I lived somewhere that I had something like that blooming in January.

Beautiful John, I wish Camellia were winter hardy here. The taller height you have is necessary to visually support those big, beautiful, formal flowers. I would not try to get it shorter. Like the styles for flower display in azalea, taller is better., Branches as platforms or scaffolds for the flowers.

Very nice John.
