Anyone know of good online sources for 1.5-3" dia. starter Japanese White Pine. I've looked at Growing Grounds and Lotus, and they have nice material, but wanted some others to consider.

Would help if you told us where you're from since import in Europe or US are close to impossible. Also when you say starter, do you mean pre-bonsai or nursery type material.

I'm in Ft. Worth,TX. Need to update my profile. Will be moving up your way though in a few months to Seattle area. I'm looking for either a pre-bonsai or good nursery stock.

Thanks. We'd prefer to move to the Portland / Vancouver area but jobs aren't as easy to find there as Seattle.

Hi Ferrier,

I hope you will visit our local club, the Puget Sound Bonsai Association (http://www.psba.us/).

Depending on when you arrive, you might be able to attend our annual auction (June 4). Can't say for sure that there will be a white pine, but it's a great source of quality material at affordable prices. Certainly plenty of other pines will be available.

We are also hosting the PNBCA convention this year, starting September 3rd. Lots of great guest artists (including Ryan Neil), workshops, and vendors.

No shortage of bonsai events and resources in the Seattle area! :)

Great, Thanks. Doubt I'll be there by June 4 but most likely will be there for the Sept. convention.

Sounds good. As far as the white pines, New England Bonsai Gardens usually has a decent selection of imports in your size range. Might consider sending them an email. Good luck!

Little late, but if you do see this post, check out adamsbonsai.com

Julian Adams is by far the best Japanese white pine vendor in the country. His material is not only affordable, but also grown from seed.

Good luck!
