I got this at G&G nursery in May one of the 2 weekends /yr they open for retail sales $35.
G&G is a large distributor from Louisville to Cleveland and New England by rail
since they're located along the Ohio River bed and the rail road. Ideal location.

I believe I see the bonsai within here at the base.

It was drying out too fast, very top heavy for such a splendid little size of roots so I decided to do what's best for it.
Things are really cooking, so I didn't want to disturb the roots more than slicing the bottom off at a better angle
and planted it on a 12" tile. I will lift the tree in the Spring and work on the roots at a more opportune time.
(Juniper is a bit heat stressed right now and shedding some inner foliage)
When I lift the tree I will probably put an 18" tile that I didn't have this go round in place of the 12.

Now I need to learn how to do something with the rest of the juniper. Lots to take cuttings from but don't want the hassle.
So I should learn to graft...

Sweet. I purchased a Robusta recently myself. I’ve seen a few others online with well defined pads.

Yes balled and burlapped mugo pine :)
Right. 🤦🏼‍♂️ Yeah, I’m excited about the Mugo I got this year. If I can have success with the small ones I got, I’ll def step up in size. So far so good.

Keep us posted on the robusta.

Are you not worried that the side facing the wall gets to little light if it stays there for a long time?
Or that it drowns when there is allot of rain, I see a rain pipe is ditching water next to it

No worries on lighting. Just left Lowes and forgot the drain extension, but have a 6”
pipe on it for now to extend well past there. Good eye Defra.
