Religion and politics should have no place here. Really had to consider not responding to some pop over Frenchman. A general guideline sticky for what should and shouldn't be discussed here might be helpful. You have done such a good job on this site even allowing conversations outside of posts. Surely if someone has an issue with another it could be brought up privately thanks to your hard work. Too bad not everyone here wants to use this as a tool of bonsai knowledge and expression. Maybe just a fair heads up will make them think twice before going on a tangent on another member who btw was not me. Have a great day. 🖖🏻

It definitely won't stop him, unfortunately...

I remember a thread last year about another hurricane (Michael?). Everyone was wishing safety upon the people that would be affected, some were even praying. This guy felt the need to interject his vicious hatred for praying, and he somehow wrapped politics into it also. He had no reason to post on the thread, he wouldn't have been affected at all by the hurricane, but he felt like that was an appropriate time to spout out his derision, right as people were DYING and losing their homes and property...

So much for being "tolerant"...:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Yeah he is. I assume we are talking about the same person, but maybe not.

The Tea House is for these kinds of topics; anything else not bonsai related. The Head Nut and a few secret ;) moderators purposefully don't censor much unless things get very ugly, which I think is the way it should be.

Trust me, if things do get out of hand, they'll lock down the thread. I don't think they ever erase anything, but maybe I don't notice. Everyone is culpable for what they say here for the most part, but you do have 20 minutes to edit your posts on a thread, and I think 5 minutes for a private message.

I'd like to second this.

As well, I'd like to say that I believe in the free exchange of ideas in all plausible circumstances is best for us all, as human beings.....no matter the subject, no matter my opinions, beliefs or views.

We can all learn something, positive or negative, from everyone.

Killerbutts you have been a member for a whole three days.

You are trying to get someone banned that has been a valued member for years, because he hurt your poor little feelings, because he does not believe in your god?

I think you are the troll and may want to learn how a non to very lightly moderated forum works.

In other words if your feelings are hurt tough shit, put on your big boy pants or leave. The forum is not changing you hurt feeling little nazi.

You have the power. It's called the "ignore" button.

The Internet has now been around long enough that anyone who uses it knows that you are going to run into people that you disagree with. The vast majority of people here are friendly and helpful, but even the friendliest and most helpful can have a bad day, or get into an argument about trees... or soil... or whatever. Don't let it get under your skin.

......and even some of us with major disagreements on serious topics can find a common ground....here, over the little trees, and even be friendly! @M. Frary @AlainK

When I was new on this forum I questioned the relevance of a post not related to bonsai, and it was brought to my attention that I was viewing in an open forum (tea house) and it was where members could connect on other topics. I apologized for not being aware. I've seen a few threads that I thought were a little heated, but never anything hateful or nasty. People here seem to be very helpful and knowledgeable on such a broad range of subjects that you're sure to get a wide variety of opinions and personalities, sometimes they clash, that's what keeps it interesting.

If you think the Tea House gets a little heated... you should have been here in the Karaoke Bar days :) And no... I'm not joking.
I was actually in the bonsai forums when I stumbled on it. I am rarely upset at much, those who prey on the weak and in this case members sensibility to not reply. So happy to see that ignore button after my post 🤦🏼‍♂️. I fail at many things.

Simple simple truth.

Anyone who is upset by the things that Gentleman says is under full control of the media.

No worries, we all are, it's in our best interest to shake it though.

Think about this.....

You are walking through a cold mountain forest after a plane crash. Hurt, hungry, and desperately in need of water, you are struggling to remain alive. A man appears and holds you up just as your legs are about to give way. He brings you to his cottage, feeds you, warms you, and allows you shelter as further help comes. He saves your life.

That Frenchman would help you.

When you find out he doesn't believe in your god or your politics, do you then hate him, and wish he let you die?

We should be able to speak whatever we want about these ridiculous, mind controlling institutions that are religion and politics.
Fuck them.
It will always be an argument because that's how it is designed.
When we argue we stress, and when we stress, we buy, and when we buy, they use the money to further advertise and control us.

Stupid Fucking Beliefs.

By the way, I think humans are fucking stupid for living where there are hurricanes.
Don't blame you though, because you are being sold shit there too. The guy collecting that money doesn't live there, he's safe.

I'm stupid for living where I do too but....I'm being sold shit here.
