I'd rather have pacman in my yard than yingyang ;D
You need to do some carving on that tree stump, it's too straight on the top, it needs some chain saw character! The patio is awesome . I went from an undersized little covered porch to an expansive patio that goes right up to the pond. Sure, I still have the same limited covered area, but the patio has given me at least 10 times the usable space.
And I’ll install a retractable awning over a bunch of it, and that will give me more covered area for next summer.

Boulders are always awesome!
How much did those weight? How’d you move/place them? (I had a hard time by myself)
That big one looks huuge!
Your Beech Forest changing already?
Wow Mach5 your back yard and trees inspired me to burn my house and trees down and start over lol. That is just perfection man.... thank you for sharing. I’m just starting out about 6 months ago and most of the land in my backyard is on a slope so this is all I can work with for now. There’s about 10 trees that is not in pictures waiting for more shelves to be made. View attachment 264123View attachment 264124View attachment 264125View attachment 264126
It's looking world class now. Like the new arrangement very much. And I like a guy with big stones....No, no don't do that!! Back in the day, I had my trees on top of rotting planks of wood supported by crummy and ugly cinderblocks, believe it or not in this same space where I built my garden. I had weedy grass underneath and ugly mesh deer fencing around them. I think you get the picture. As I became much more serious about bonsai, I decided I needed something a bit better to display and enjoy my trees.
Big time transformation, so nice.@MACH5, the pond builder used a machine he called a “dingo” and a small excavator to dig the pond and move and set the stones for my pond.
The back of my house has been transformed!

Lowes is making a lot of money off us bonsai folks! I'm also using their buckets (and cinder blocks) to support bonsai tables (pallets in some cases, tables made from pressure treated lumber in others). No fancy formal display for me at this point. Finally getting more settled in new place. Have had too many things on the ground for too long -was able to add some pallet tables yesterday.

What are you gonna do with all that leftover flagstone??
You can make some very nice pathway-accents or small hardscape-accents with that.
Ain’t that truth! I feel like I’ve been going to Lowe’s at least twice a week lately.. Since doing this though, I’ve been shocked by how much easier it is to water and assess them when not packed in like sardines or tripping over them . Life is much improved. Now these damn buckets just better hold up!...I was tempted to get blocks for this reason.Lowes is making a lot of money off us bonsai folks!
