Japanese white pine needles turning yellow.

Hi guys! Some of my japanese white pine needles are turning yellow at the base , what causes this ? Thanks in advance. Tommy

No, on my JWP, the needles only last one year.

When I was a landscaper I always had a time trying to explain to people that the needles don't last forever. Funny that people don't seem to notice this until they are up close and personal with a tree.
