Hi-
First year with a larch and just wondering if this is the fall colors starting or if something is wrong. Mainly wondering because the tips are yellowing first which I am uncertain if that's normal or a sign of some watering problem. Thanks!268230

Chicago area. They were fine all spring/summer. This started a couple days ago.

Yeah, it's fall. Some of my larches are already completely yellow, one has just barely started to turn (looks like yours). If the needles had yellow tips during the growing season, that indicates a problem. Not now, though.

Mine has already gone through bright yellow fall color, and has dropped all of its needles after a few overnight frosts:

That’s a great looking Larch. Do you have a thread started for it yet?

Ok great thanks! Fall makes the most sense, just didn't like the tips going yellow first. Glad to hear it's probably ok. Thanks for the help!
