I think I like that first one.

I don’t know anything about this art except it’s representative in the same way bonsai is. So I don’t know what to look for exactly but this one does feel different then most I see online. Give me a shot trying to explain my feelings (my wife would be so proud)

I think why is the lean on the rock is amplified by that little gap on the lower left side... It really makes it stand out as a cliff side, but in a subtle way (if that’s possible) It took me a min to figure out why this leaning rock felt different then the others I’ve seen and I think that’s it.

Now that I’ve written it down and looked some more, the diaza sticking out under that ledge really helps emphasize the overhang. I don’t think I've seen this done before. Did you make the stand yourself?

It’s making me picture a cliff so well I feel a bit uneasy about it and I think that’s why I wanted to say I think I like it. Now that I understand why I feel that way I definitely like it 👍

Just wondering you think this was an accurate description of the rock and diaza? I’m curious to see if I’m seeing/feeling what was intended.

I’ve never written so much about a rock before...

Thank you so much for your reply! That is exactly what I intended with the daiza design yes. I made it two years ago I think. If I would make it again I'd make the feet a little more sophisticated and a little more smooth movement in the outer wall. I'm really glad you like it so much, thank you again. I found the stone in Germany a couple of years ago, in a forest in the Hunsrück area with a couple other stones. This one is the best out of that batch. Here is a better pic, the details in the waterfall show much better and there is also small bits of quartz rich stone visible that look like snow leftovers melting away in the warming weather :). Perfect for a display around February/March in this area.

The snow bits are best visible on and just below the small peak on the right of the top of the waterfall.

Well I’m glad your intent was what I experienced. It’s always nice when that happens with something that is so subjective like art. This is a good picture I saved it for inspiration for when I start getting to the point of needing a display of my own.

We dont already have one of these do we?

I quite like rocks. So I thought maybe a thread like the tree thread may bring more out. You know mandatory to post a picture with reply. Things that can be called suiseki, rocks that look like things or just look cool. Rocks that can be used as planters.... call’em stones if you like.

Here’s a new one for me, fresh outta the truck 5 minutes ago. View attachment 261853

So I added a stone that fits like a glove to this cast iron key holder. (Removed the lid of course.)
🤷 I kind of like the finished look.

This rock fits the crab great!
I just saw your post about this on Facebook this morning. Love this idea. hope you don’t mind if a steal it 😬(I might use it to actually hide a key still)

*Edit*
forgot my rock! Had to go outside and find one in the parking lot at work. Coworkers were kind of confused...275886
Please ignore the nasty keyboard. I work production in a warehouse. Just writing up some SOPs while on light duty this week
