Thanks!Good luck with them!
Really? That's good to hear. Thanks for the info. This source seems pretty cheap too. I'm not one of those that wants to spend $40 to get 20,000 seeds lol.Very good source, get ready for a 90+% germination rate

Thanks @Leo in N E Illinois , @GGB and @Wires_Guy_wires I wish I had read this sooner, I’ve been neglecting Bnut lately. The last 2-3 days I put them outside with no domes. I think I may have read this a little late, many have kind of fallen flat, maybe they’ll perk back up. If not I still have dozens that are upright. I see that this batch is very spindly, sounds like you’ve explained why. I may try doing that seedling cutting thing so maybe it’s not a tremendous issue. To me this batch is about learning. So if I get just a couple I’ll be happy. Thank you for the advice. I just need to be more timely in reading it.Pine seedlings need sun as they germinate, or the artificial lighting equivalent. The more sun, the shorter the initial stem elongation. Indirect light is simply not bright enough. Pine seedlings sprouted in shade are susceptible to fungal and bacterial attack. You need more light. Get those trays outdoors on warm days, and or get some sort of horticultural light over them for the days that are too cool to go outside. The UV in the sunlight kills Phytophthora and many other pathogens.
When you set them in the sun, the domes must be either propped open, or removed completely. Completely off is safer.
Both the black pine and Scots are germinating nicely. Soon I can count for a germination rate but I’d rather not count my sprouts before they hatch. I sowed the Norway spruce 4 days ago and noticed the first sprouted seed yesterday so they should follow quickly. They were in the fridge about two weeks longer, so I don’t know if that helped or not.
