I came back from Yosemite and found that my trees were suffering a bit from our excessive heat. Seems spider mites have found a home, so now I am spraying with Malathion when I should have been spraying prophylactically.
It surprised me because I have experienced mites on shimpaku before, but never on black pine. Well, I am sure that a weekly spray of Malathion will abate the problem for the season. Does anyone recommmend anything else? Boon tells me the buggers will get resistant if you use only one pesticide.
