Everything goes into a Mica pot till close till done or for sale.
To many changes of final direction to buy a pot that may or may not work.

I have several larger Japanese pots...good pots really (from Mrs Yamaguchi in California)....the pots use an olive green to dark grey clay. Way back in time....I thought I would need big pots (15”-16”...and 3”-4” deep) all the time. Unglazed. Then....I learned a great deal about root pruning....and glazes. It’s unlikely I’ll ever need these larger pots. I may try to find someone local to give them to.

So I checked my inventory pics and I underestimated, its not 30, more like 40+ pots that I have empty and waiting.

That said, there are about 200 or so that I’ve made and are for sale. I’m not counting those, but there are a couple of them I can’t let go of for now.

There are a bunch of seconds that I will probably end up using for myself. Once a tree is in them the firing cracks or slump problems are a lot less noticeable.

I tried to count the pots between all your photos, and realized I also can't count that high 🤣
I stopped at 83, not counting the plastic and paint pots LOL. That's about 63 more than my meagre collection of pots-in-waiting.
Some very nice pots there, especially in the fourth and sixth pics.
Glad Dave set the bar high so I can ease under it with far fewer than 83 empties. Even with my big box on the way from MattyO...😜

It depends, Anthony. Sure, sometimes I have to find a pot for a particular tree. Sometimes, I find a great pot that, while I don’t have an immediate plan for it, I will be thankful I have it when one of my trees needs a special pot.

For example, this antique Chinese pot:

Going on 200 years old. Awesome patina.
I have been searching for this pot in a size that would match a particular tree. excellent patina and design.

Hello! Wild collection of pots, appreciate your determination. I am in search of a similar octagon pot on the bottom shelf. Would you be able to point me in a direction for a similar pot?

Thank you

That’s what I was told by Matt Ouwinga. He’s rather an expert.

it has flaws and repairs. That were nicely done. If it were in perfect condition, it would have been absolutely unaffordable!

It's spectacular, where the repairs done in the US? I have an older pot needing repair.

I got that one from Matt... made by Keizan, reproduction of antique Chinese.
