I got infatuated with 7 sided pieces and made a thing of it.
With the seventh, on the left of the red river clay, the pictures.
The right 2 are bonsai pots.
The other Tea Bowls.20200314_141722.jpg

That red river clay. This is the one that didn't melt at cone 6, but was highly porous and brittle, a metallic red over black color. 20200313_142213.jpg

A couple panels and the edges sponged to reveal the sand, and provide good holding friction.20200314_135343.jpg

@Anthony don't want you to @jump passed the above 7 series! 🙄☝👁👆 It's one post up....

Do want your opinion on this.

A quick evolution, this shape went to 2D pretty fast.

The first one in porcelain...cracked so I patched it with that river clay.🤔

Cracked cuz I tried too hard!
Second one took half as long.

Really love the possibilities. Changing dimensions and such. Working with the differences that come with humidity, clay, time, day, etc...to bring variation to the same piece.

In stoneware......

Building my Gas joint.

Found a plate I didn't know I had to cut thru.
Luckily the other day I found the peice I need for my grinder on the way to school!
20200405_102140.jpg
The top 2 Brick rows and lid left.

I cut a 3.5in hole at the top of the bottom for my burner. Flared to 4.5 to accommodate the pilot tube and flame sensor. Also to suck more air.
20200405_113317.jpg
@Carol 83 channeling the purple using this purple sharpie for the project!

Test fitting the burner hole with my hardibase. I left it away from the edge to allow water to drop away.
20200405_130122.jpg

Fabbed and fitted a secondary air damper of the stainless ring that held the coarse of brick between these 2 sections.
20200405_125520.jpg
20200405_125901.jpg
Should allow me a higher degree of control.

Dragging the 4high base part out. Making sure to go square over the doorsill.
20200405_134208.jpg

I pounded the ground manually with a brick and added some play sand.
20200405_131725_HDR.jpg
I'll have to check it a couple times after loading 150lbs in this thing!

First 2 chimney coarses up. Held with Shelves.
20200405_160401_HDR.jpg

I stuck this "wind sock" by the Burner hole to get an idea of what wind makes it down there.
20200405_135238.jpg

......more....

Chimney Brick all up, still have to slide my shelf in for a flue wall.20200405_192111.jpg

I started with just the mortar, Sairset. Then made up some 5050 fireclay and silica sand to fill the gaps.
20200405_183553.jpg

Like a toilet. FLUSH.
20200405_192101.jpg

Minor hole patching where the ring was damaged from poor handling in the past. Not too bad.
20200405_192115.jpg

I put a bead of fireclay and sand around the outside, before screwing in my unpictured joiner straps, a couple old, a couple from the ss ring.
20200405_192125.jpg

And got her...(her? No name yet) put away in the "cold" fashion. A tarp directly on her. And around the "hut".
20200405_202203.jpg
When she's hot I will tarp from the holes I drilled thru the garage wall to the fence, and around the hut when cooled a bit.

Test fitting my chimney shelf today.

Getting confirmation on delivery of my 6 new custom 12x20 shelves today.

Getting them bottles.

Firing Wednesday weather permitting.

How about ‘Zul’ the gatekeeper?

At first, without knowing why....I was good with Deb. Now, after being so (fuck the internet) happy that we talked about Akadama and didn't meow out....(having a thing on another forum currently about "arguing about superiority"...ugh!)

Debbiezula is her name.

Kilnin' Myshelf Again!
V 2.0

20200413_151208.jpg

This will allow me 5 15x9 Max, with a couple smallers and one 20x12 at the top. Hopefully.
Trying to expand this.

Debbiezula fires tomorrow!
