So here is my first BC pine, there is another one in the pot with it. I have tried BC seeds before without any luck. This time I just put some seeds in a pot out on the porch, and presto. I have had tropical Bonsai for years, but haven’t kept any pines. I have seen posts here that make me believe I can keep these guys alive. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

merry quarantine

What Alex above said. Make sure your soil mix is roughly 70-80% sand / finely crushed lava rock or the such. Pines don't like soaked roots.
And make sure it gets enough chill hours come winter.

PS - where did you get BC pine seeds from, if I may ask?

What is location/please add to profile. Be MOST careful with H2O on seedlings to prevent damp off. Your soil looks too organic/H2O retentive. Also must disagree on soil mix. Great fortune with 100% pumice with personal trees. Great aeration, drainage and no wetness(over moisture)ever. For very small trees use 1/16"-3/16" particle size. Sand holds too much H2O. Personally am keeping 2 P. aristata, 5 P. longaeva, 2 P. balfouraia. Once grew 5 P. balfouriana from seed and lost all from damp off:(.

Where are you growing this? If you are on the east coast or deep south it will likely be a problem.

So, you actually have trees? Care to post a picture or two of them?

I have not been able to grow one in Virginia. I think it hates the humidity.
