Will you update when it leafs out, I like the direction you’re going with it. When you first got it I wasn’t sure about it, I has a nice base and nice movement but Had somewhat awkward growth. That cut back was the right move, changed the direction and made it more convincing. That was good work.

Well...Vin helped me aquire this pot. Which I am grateful. The base of the BC grew far more aggressively than I imagined.

It's far from what ones see as a traditional bald cypress I hear so often. So in potting this up. I went with an untraditional approach. Planting it with a more dramatic flare. Not for all...and that's okay too. I do see where many would plant this tree to the left. I had it in the pot...and it seemed to take away the drama this little tree has. Making it seem almost more tame. So in feeling that. Went to the right so the fronds can hang over the rim of the pot.

I think it looks perfect like it is. You have done a good job at keeping it small. I got a cool oval from Vin that is made of stainless steel.

I would like to point out...I have a controlled cold greenhouse. The temps range from 32-35F. With this repot they Will stay at 35F to 37F. There is always a fluctuation to a degree. This tree came from Florida...and has its cold hours in. Its been a lovely winter for the trees. Rarely needed the secondary heater or venting. But living up north...secondary is on for the past few days...and still in my comfortable buffer.

I would bet that stainless steel pot came from Stickroot originally. I have a pot (not stainless steel) from him also. Love it.

Looks great; I love the combo. I was re-reading through the thread and had to say, “never say never.”

It amazes me how small this tree is... <3

Awww thanks. The movement in the trunk will forever mesmerize me. But what I love most is that these are traditionally nothing remotely like my tree...for bonsai with the species. They are grand in their own right...where that makes this one a small gem.

@MrFancyPlants ... I must say, never say never. Had me looking back through the older posts...
Tongue in cheek...YOU first who suggested the weeping style! It honestly does make cutting off the leader much easier to do to keep regrowing the tree to keep it successfully small. So thanks for that...even though I was stubborn...with my reply. My...never going to happen. 🤦‍♀️ really holds true to never saying never. Thanks for the suggestion back then. I was heavily taking my advice from one in the south who was coaching me on BC at the time.

I think you nailed it with the tree/pot combo! Great tree, Darlene!
Serendipity...with the pot. Since the commissioned one for it failed to fit at repot. Vin really came in and saved me. I couldn't find a good replacement. I had a few at home...but all on the small side. This worked best. Thanks for the kind words.
