I recently bought this kishu for a good price and the seller told me it has these white spots of the foliage. I was fine with it because it’s what I needed . There is a new berry growing on the tree but are these mites or berrys ?

Hard to tell but looks like scale to me

I'm not a fan of systemics. But I haven't been able to get rid of scale any other way.
The big scale species are easy to kill, the tiny juniper scales require a more tactical approach from the inside out. Soap only harms the cuticle wax in most junipers I own.

I’d remove each one manually and then treat with a systemic to prevent reoccurrence.

I just picked a lot of them off and they came off very easy . I have some organic insect on plant killer that I’m gonna use .

Make sure you check the label before use. If scale isn't included in the list of pests it's meant to kill, spraying makes no sense.

People on Facebook are all telling me that this isn’t scale . I need to get better photos tho

PEople on facebook are full of shit.

The tiny white spots on this juniper have all the characteristics of juniper scale.

compare what you have, with this picture and let us know:

The part out of focus looks off color.

Whole pic?

Sorce

Some junipers make resin drops, but these resin drops are rarely round. Berries aren't possible right now; they should be either green (last year), blue/purple (last year and two years ago) or still in a flowering phase which has just started for chinensis varieties.

So yeah, facebook people are misdirecting you.

An insecticide for another type of pest wouldn't kill your tree but it would also do no harm to the scale. It's a stress on the environment and a waste of money to use something that doesn't work.

Here are some up close photos !
