After top dressing several trees with collected moss I have found, as I am sure nobody here is surprised, that it doesn't like the full sun exposure.

So instead of putting the rest of my collection on the trees, I found some other fun things to do with it.

Nice!..

“Nurse Log” Plantings are also a great deal of fun...and multiple varieties of mosses and grasses are necessary for proper “effect”.

You should “fill your cup” at that particular watering hole, also. If you have a moment.

Nurse Log Like This?

Looks like I need to go find a log where I found this moss. There were plenty of them laying around. And my wife likes this idea. We grabbed four blue violets from the forest floor as well that could work as accent plants on such a log.

I'm honestly thinking about just buying some sun-loving moss for my bonsai... $20-30 I see on various sites.

Those look amazing!

I sadly can't find any in sunny locations yet. Only luck so far in the wooded area by the creek by my house.
I live at a lake association...the hill by the dam is a gold mind. Sadly, it's also a mine field for goose poop at the moment.

The townspeople here were all excited when a pair of geese took up residence on the little lake uptown. Now you can't even walk around the lake without dodging 💩.
