I can't figure out what's going on with this guy. He started dropping leaves on one branch last week. They didn't turn yellow first.....just dropped them. Now the lower branches are turning yellow and he's droopy and sad looking. I just replanted him last night in fresh soil and a bigger pot. He gets sunlight from a window, as I'm treating for aphids outside, but I can put him out soon. You can see his leaves look weird with thin "white" spots. These are how the leaves grew in, it's not bugs or anything. Please help me! 😓

It's a full sun tree of the tropics. Trees shed parts that are not as productive as they should be in favor of sending out new stems in hopes of finding that pathway to sunshine through the canopy of its brothers. Your window ain't makin' it. This is the season of high growth that makes or breaks the tree's possibilities of getting through that canopy, so there's no stopping or slowing down to accommodate whatever is in the way of success, this a life or death program.
Growing seasons around the world vary widely and it is difficult to get a perspective on what someone says when we don't know where in the world they are. If you go to the upper right hand corner and click on your Icon, you can add your location and people will be able to customize advice for you.

So do you think it's too late? I put him outside now and he'll get sun there most of the day. Would the lack of sun explain the way the leaves are growing patchy? I can get a better picture if that helps. And should I prune the branches he dropped leaves from? I'm in Florida panhandle btw. Thank you so much for responding. I'm very new to this and definitely need help.

As long as it's growing, all is not lost. I can't speak to the white dots, but with lots of sun and water and a fert like Miracle Grow every two weeks from April through September, the plant will respond.

Welcome to Crazy!

This..."treating for aphids" is a concern for me.

The ants will just bring them back up the tree when the treatment is over.

However.... if you blast the foliage with a hose every watering, the ants find somewhere else to take them.
