I've seen some people that use pots that are screened.

What's the purpose of this, I read something about it developing stronger roots, for plants that are in development?

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Basically, when roots grow out and reach the air, the tips die and the roots divide further back. This results in a denser root ball with more growing tips - less circling of long and unproductive roots. If you use the search function on this site and look for "air pruning" you'll find lots of threads discussing the details.

The roots can't "loop" in the bottom because they get air pruned.
More drainage, more oxygen to the roots.
And, they are cheap!
