I started with Hostas for accents some time ago and soon went to many other species including mushrooms now.

Here are a few of my Minature Hostas.

Tiny Temple Chimes
Blue Mouse Ears
Tiny Temple Chimes

Do you have these in a greenhouse? Or are you growing them under lights (in your basement, etc). I assume they need high humidity(?)

Most of the pictures above are from last year, although all my accents are now inside and sprouting...I need to give them a early start so that they are ready for the spring show in Grand Rapids. My mushroom accents are also indoors now as well, in the basement.

These are all hardy to zone 5 and they come back every year after being left out side, both in the ground and in accent pots.

I never mentioned that I keep many different hostas around by Monkey Poles and benches, the miniatures under the benches. They get all the water and fertilizer run off and thrive in the shade....this gives me a constant source of trading material. I am always willing to trade minis....

Hostas are one of my favorite garden perennials...I have 80+ varieties planted in my yard. Most of mine are large to very large in size (2-3'+ in height and width) so they wouldn't make good accent plants:) . Hostas are generally considered hardy to zone 3, so growing them in Wisconsin is no problem. I'm pretty sure most of those varieties could be found for sale on the internet...there are many supplers found on line.

I too have a lot of varieties of Hosta in the garden, probably 100 plants total. Where we normally buy them there are always a good selection of miniatures. If in the Seattle area in spring (late April) there's a plant sale at Magnuson Park called FlorAbundance. The vendors are from specialty nurseries all over the region that most people would not normally get to. There is normally a great selection of material for bonsai there too, and it's where I get my heirloom tomatoes.

Here's one local nursery you could try that sells online:

Online from Bali-Hai. Last I knew they had over 1100 differnt hostas. They can be a little pricey, so if anyone is interested, before ordering, pm me and maybe I have what you are going to order already and I'll be more than happy to swap for minis I don't have...
