I am selling a collected Mugo Pine that I have been enjoying since about 2015. Great tree with a good future. Here is the eBay link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/3340963574...ep_vectorid=229466&kwid=902099&mtid=824&kw=lg

Where was it collected ?
I think it’s important that you state that. “Collected” implies to most people that the tree was collected from the wild. The word “yamadori” means “from the mountains”.Collected from an Old Farm house as a foundation planting in northern Michigan.
In the ebay listing I said "collected from an old landscape". Ill edit it to be more clear.I think it’s important that you state that. “Collected” implies to most people that the tree was collected from the wild. The word “yamadori” means “from the mountains”.
A tree dug up from a foundation planting is not the same as a yamadori. It can still be a nice tree, but I think it’s only fair to describe it more accurately.
Let it ride.In the ebay listing I said "collected from an old landscape". Ill edit it to be more clear.
Well… not exactly.Let it ride.
Collected is collected.
I don't think people buy it because of the word collect from the mountain or an abandoned lot. The pictures is what sold here. If there is no pics then description will be much more relevant.Well… not exactly.
A wild tree would never have been artificially pruned or shaped.
A landscape tree might have been. Especially if it had been a part of a hedge.
I guess my concern is that newbies might misunderstand what it is they’re buying. There are some amazing Yamadori Mugo in Europe, where they are native. But there are no yamadori Mugo in North America.
But the tree does appear to have some age and potential. I hope it goes to a good home.
I agree.I don't think people buy it because of the word collect from the mountain or an abandoned lot. The pictures is what sold here. If there is no pics then description will be much more relevant.
