I went to the corner of my property and found this BC near the point of death. Its roots have been soaked in the salty storm flood. The weeds are also choking it. I dug it up and bare rooted it. Then I went ahead and chopped the most dead trunk until I found live tissue. Then I went ahead and sorted out the root. It is in a big shallow pot now sitting in the shade. I hope it lives.

Nice.
BC can be quite sensitive to elevated saline levels.
good save.

This tree may wind up in either a BC group or forest later this year. It will be fed hard to grow for the next few months.

It was moved to a flat today. I won’t dunk it in water until it is growing vigorously.

Tree is growing well. I just had to pick some leaf galls from the tree. I didn’t want the larvae to survive and the galls spread to other6C0E088D-35FA-43F0-AF42-9D8204AE1EDC.jpeg trees.

I see your post’s contain a lot of BC as well as a lot of other material. Have you done any BC forest’s? Seems like you have a lot of cool material to do some nice ones. 👍

It is back! Now is the time to put it in the cement tub filled with water.

I love this little tree, from near death to flourishing. It’s put on some awesome growth and is starting to smooth out at the chop. Pretty impressive for one year later. Well done!
